Looking ahead to 2027, Canada’s housing landscape is set to shift in meaningful ways. According to CMHC, we can anticipate a gradual improvement in housing conditions as incomes and economic growth gain traction. While home sales are expected to recover, activity may still fall short of the robust pace we saw over the last decade. CREA’s outlook of only modest national price growth points to a market that’s stabilizing, rather than gearing up for another dramatic surge. As inventory increases and demand softens in certain regions, buyers could find themselves with more room to negotiate. Drawing from our family’s two decades in Ontario’s construction and development sectors, I see these evolving market dynamics as an opportunity to plan thoughtfully—ensuring that properties are positioned for resilience and long-term value in the changing landscape.
